What was once a private dinner club became a reservations only restaurant; now it's first come first serve. Located behind the local shopping strip, you must ring the doorbell and wait only a moment to be let in. The decor and low lighting do leave one to wonder just how clean the place really is. On the menu are chops and chicken of which you'll receive two and of course steak..cooked to your choice on the large grill on the main floor. Yes it's a little pricey but you get over it quickly once you fill your plate at the salad bar...it is the very reason for my return. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to your party's needs!! A great place for a leisurely dinner!!

Decent enough place. Way over priced, no way the steak deserved a $20 price tag. If there hAd been an outback or longhorn. I'd take their steak any day. That being said. I guess it's the best around here.

Don't waste your time and especially money on this place. Poor service, filthy environment and so-so steaks overpriced to make you "feel" like your eating an expensive meal. We've tried this place several times and always come to the same conclusion.

Loved this place. Went twice when I was in town. If I ever make it back I WILL go again!

The smell will hook you before you even reach the door! Amazing steaks that melt like butter in your mouth. The swordfish and buffalo steaks are great too. Enjoy a generous salad bar with pasta salad, tabouli and lots of fresh veggies to start and definitely have a Tumbleweed to finish your meal.

A unique one-of-a-kind steakhouse. It is oddly located on the backside of a Ponca City strip-mall and up a short alley like sidewalk from the parking lot. Once your in the first door, you still need to ring a bell and are then let in to the restaurant through a second door. The decor is a lot of wood and the restaurant has two levels each with its own salad bar. There is a full bar in the upstairs section. The upper section over looks the main floor where a circular fire fit is in the middle of the room for all to see--this is where all the beef magic takes place. I guess when the place originally opened it truly was a supper club and you basically brought your own meat and used the communal grill. My rib-eye was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, complemented with an excellent baked potato, salad bar and fresh bread. I will definitely return on my next trip to the Ponca City area.

OK, so I have only been to Ponca City once. Looking around, it is a small town and probably does not have many choices for good food. My brother took me here as he favors the place. I thought it was cool how you enter in an odd place and then have almost a "speakeasy" type entrance. The menu has steak & chicken...not much else. The salad bar reminds me of 1982, retro, but cool too. It was exactly as he described it and the steak was good. Yes, you can have an excellent steak in a larger city for a little more, but a $50 steak in this area may not drive the demand. This place may struggle in a larger city, but it seems to do very well here. In fact, almost every table was used on a Tuesday night. Overall, I am happy & will return when in the area.

Their steaks are just okay and way over priced. If I pay $30 for a steak, I expect better than just an okay steak. Service was poor and not very friendly. We felt like unwanted guests. We won't be back.

What a gem for meat. Exceptionally done right and full of flavor. Great hole in the wall type of place.

I have to go work in Ponca City for work every now and again. Wandered in this place due to yelp reviews. Here's my scoop. For Ponca City, its OK. The inside of this place has a cool feel. This is NOT a place to get a $30 steak though. Their quality of meat is pretty bad. Me and my pal got T-Bones that were just thin and overcooked. The salad bar and booze were by far the best thing that we got there. This is the kind of steak you'd not mind paying $10 bucks for at a gentlemans club. If youre into feeling special by having to ring a doorbell to get into a place, then this is for you. If you like good steak, save your appetite for somewhere else.

It's pretty good! Not a bad steakhouse for a small town

Looking for a good steak, grill your own at home. The meat quality is horrific. If my food service provider sold me such low quality cuts of meat I would switch, assuming as A Steak House, you cut your own. Since they are cut Way too thin and over seasoned with Worcestershire sauce. Your servers need to learn their manners and need more training!! Epic waste of $$$!!

We have been to Ponca City several times over the last few years on our way to Bike Rallies, and usually stay overnight. We are always looking for somewhere to get a decent meal that isn't fast food. I have read very useful review on Yelp before and decided to see what reviews were available for Ponca City. Wow, was I glad I did. In all the trips we have made through Ponca City I never saw or even heard about the Rusty Barrell Supper Club, even though we have passed close by it on every trip! It is hard for me to get my husband to try new places, but, we had a friend riding with us and so he was willing to give it a try. The reviews on Yelp where great and very, very helpful! If you just pull into the parking lot you get the impression the place is closed down. My husband tried the door, which was locked, I told him you "have to ring the doorbell". The door was opened almost immediately by a very friendly lady who didn't seem to mind that the three of us were in "biker gear". The place is exactly how it has been described in other reviews and the waitstaff was very friendly. The salad bar is wonderful! Not huge, but, it had a lot of different options and was well stocked and everything was fresh even though we were there past nine o'clock. Our steaks were all cooked exactly right and very tasty! The baked potatoes and little loaf of bread were good also. A perfect baked potato, even at the late hour! I have gone to other places where they have run out of baked potatoes or the one you get is so over-baked and dry that you wished they had been sold out! We were the last patrons to leave and didn't even really realize it until we got up to leave. We were seated on the upper level, which we really liked. No one had said a word to us about needing to close. We apologized for being the last the leave and the hostess was very friendly and told us no problem, they would all be there for quite awhile cleaning up. Very nice! Especially since we looked pretty rough in our "biker" clothes!! The Rusty Barrell Supper Club is a true hidden gem in Ponca City! We had a great meal, with great service and will most definitely go back soon!!

If you like steak, pork chops or chicken but not much else (I think they have seafood on Friday), then this place is for you. My 14 oz KC strip was tough, the baked potato was warm, was slathered in margarine and there were no other potato options as this place has no frier. The only desserts that were available were various assortments of boxed cheese cake. Yes I actually ask if the desserts were made on site. Mediocre beer list and wine list. The steak was marinated in something resembling Worcestershire, but it overpowered the meat. This place is kitschy, but you can't eat kitschy. It's probably worth one visit but I won't be back.

Nestled in the back of Ponca Plaza building, look for the orange door and ring the bell and you're in for a treat! This is our go-to place for special occasions if we don't plan to go out of town to get a nice meal out. Relaxing vibe, nice 'dimmed' lighting, simple but great menu choices. If you're in the area, come check this place out.

A very good restaurant, but it taste like it should be at a resort in room service, But because yelp doesn't like people to rant, I should tell you the basics so pardon my French but it looks like a too secluded spot for food to me, to me anyways. I would reccomend getting the swordfish it's SOOOO GOOD MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH sorry my evil is getting the most of me ehem now where was I, ah the review sorry. It's near a strip mall that contains a food pyrimad, fossil and other things, like rac (rent-a-center) and jc pennies. And not high service, but toppling on other things the food is good and service is so-so bye MUAHAHAHHAHA.

Great restaurant atmosphere, this placed is tucked away in an unlikely location. Our party had the KC strip and the Ribeye and both were delicious. Also the salad bar had several good options especially the macaroni salad. The turtle cheesecake was really good.

Finding this place can be like finding some trendy club in NYC I imagine. It's basically behind a strip mall down this little sidewalk right up to the door. No real way of knowing where you are headed until you're right there. This place must be a part time casino because you have to be buzzed in to get through the front door. Inside it's pretty cool, rustic looking decor, lots or barrels of course. Not a big selection for the menu because this is a steak and potatoes kind of place. Order your meat which they cook on this cool grill near the entrance and hit up the salad bar while you wait. The staff is always really nice and friendly here so if you're in town for some reason check out one of the only really good dinner places around.

Wonderful food! There generally is a wait, so be prepared. Reservations are only available for parties with 5 or more people. Located in the alley behind the Ponca Plaza, but easy to get to and ample parking. Would highly recommend!

We've been going here for a lot of years & it's a wonderful place to have a great steak. I'm picky about my steak & I like it med well but have to order it well done to get it the way I like it. It's still tasty & juicy.
